The song, which is on the new album Baby on Baby 2, also alludes to Tory Lanez’s alleged shooting of the rapper for the song “Her.”
DaBaby is the talk of the town. The North Carolina native, who is well-known for his controversies and clever lyrics, is stirring up the rap scene once more after claiming on a recent song that he had an intimate relationship with Grammy-winning rapper Megan Thee Stallion.
Baby on Baby 2, a 14-track album by DaBaby, was just released. It includes the song “Boogeyman,” in which DaBaby claims to have had a sexual experience with MTS.
The day before she claimed that Tory Lanez shot her, I was f-kin on Megan Thee Stallion, he raps. “You play with me that s-t was childish.” DaBaby is alluding to the July 2020 incident in which rapper and singer Lanez is accused of shooting Megan in the foot. (A judge ordered a delay for the shooting trial on September 14).
He said, “Waiting to mention that s-t on my next album/Hit it the day before too/ But I kept it player.” I have nothing to say about it. Had her attractive boyfriend tweeting at me, ready to commit suicide over the woman like a coward. I warned you not to play; you will now have to handle me. I prodded the muthaf-kin’ bear; I am a beast.
The “Ball If I Want To” MC seems to be referencing his June 2021 altercation with MTS and her partner Pardison Fontaine in the second stanza of the song. After Megan called DaBaby out for retweeting a joke about Lanez allegedly shooting MTS and sharing a track with the Canadian in a song called “SKAT,” the two engaged in a Twitter argument.
When DaBaby invited Lanez to play “SKAT” during his Rolling Loud Miami set in July 2021 after he had just performed with MTS, it seemed that tension between the two was intensifying.
Da Baby stated, “I’ll offer anyone out here a million bucks if they can guess who’s in here,” as Lanez emerged from his mascot costume.
