The Voice of Toronto: From Side Hustle to Sold-Out Shows

What began as a simple hobby in 2017 has grown into a cultural phenomenon that now echoes through the streets of Toronto and beyond. *The Voice of Toronto* is more than just a podcast — it’s a movement. With over 150 guests spanning the worlds of sports and entertainment, this award-nominated live show has become a staple in Canadian media, giving fans a front-row seat to unfiltered stories, raw conversations, and unforgettable moments.

Hosted and created by the charismatic Johnny Ipro, *The Voice of Toronto* has proven time and again that it’s got the heart of the city behind it. From early episodes recorded on passion and hustle to massive live events that shut down streets, the rise of this platform has been nothing short of legendary.

One of its most iconic moments came when the show sold out the historic Concert Hall with none other than WWE legend Bret “The Hitman” Hart. Fans lined up for hours, shutting down parts of Yonge Street just to be part of the experience. The energy was electric — a testament to the impact Johnny Ipro has had on his city.

Another milestone was the sold-out event at Lee’s Palace featuring Olympic gold medalist and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. Each show builds on the legacy of the last, and the buzz continues to grow.

Next up: *The Voice of Toronto* is taking things on the road. On November 9, 2025, the show heads to Montreal, Canada, for a live event once again featuring Bret “The Hitman” Hart — promising an unforgettable night for fans in La Belle Province.

But Johnny Ipro’s story starts long before the podcast. A born hustler with the ambition of an entrepreneur, he was already working the streets outside the Skydome (now Rogers Centre) at just nine years old. His family’s business is a beloved fixture in the city — one that’s known to nearly every Toronto sports fan.

More than just a host, Johnny Ipro is a business owner, a storyteller, and a community figure who has built a platform from the pavement up. *The Voice of Toronto* isn’t just a title — it’s a legacy in the making.
