To the MTV Movie Awards, Madelyn Cline wore this $20 plumping lipstick.

Even if you didn’t watch the MTV Movie & TV Awards last night, you most likely saw this morning’s top trending posts on your Instagram account. The stars of Netflix’s Outer Banks, Madeline Cline and Chase Stokes, who date both on- and off-screen, received the Best Kiss Award while wearing some noteworthy clothes on the IRL red carpet.

Cline made her lips the most prominent emphasis of her red-carpet makeup, maybe in anticipation of the honour. The actress accessorised her bright-red Versace minidress with a traditional black winged eyeliner and subtle contour, but her large, pouty nude lip was the star of the show.

Celebrity makeup artist Ash K Holm utilised the complete Buxom Cosmetics kit to create the look. Holm, the company’s global makeup artist, posted a detailed look at Cline’s glam routine on Buxom’s Instagram page. Holm employed three Buxom “plumping” products exclusively for the lips: a nude liner, a plumping lipstick, and a collagen serum she compares to needle-free lip injections.

Prior to applying the Plumping Nude lipstick in the slightly paler shade Fly Girl, Holms “contoured” the lip line with the Buxom Plumpline Lip Liner in the shade Uncover. Holms applied the Plump Shot serum from Buxom to the lips as a final touch. Without getting injections, “this gives you the most gorgeous, juicy lips,” she claims.
Although Cline naturally has large lips, these three additional steps—lining, plumping, and glossing—help to highlight them for a look that will undoubtedly go down in the annals of Best Kiss.
